Carmageddon is the original freeform driving sensation, where pedestrians (and cows!) equal points, and your opponents are a bunch of crazies in a twisted mix of automotive killing machines. The game features anarchic drive-wherever-you-like gameplay and over-the-top surreal comedy violence. It’s the racing game where racing is for wimps.

Now the same Mac & PC classic that was BANNED AROUND THE WORLD is back and available on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch!

Carmageddon features real-world environments that have been turned into killing fields, where the locals stay out on the streets at their peril. As well as using your car as a weapon, every level is sprinkled generously with power-ups that have a vast variety of mad effects, adding a whole extra level of craziness to the proceedings. In every event you have the option to “play it your way”… Waste all your opponents, kill every pedestrian, or (perish the thought) complete all the laps. Oh and watch out – the cops in their super-tough armoured patrol vehicles are lurking, and if they catch you being bad they’ll be down on you like several tons of cold pork!

“So next time you gun down coppers on GTA VI, just remember, Carmageddon’s controversy was there first, and you have a lot to thank it for.” - RetroGarden

ABOUT STAINLESS GAMES
Stainless was founded in 1994 by Patrick Buckland, a veteran of the games industry going back to the Jurassic period of 1982, and Neil Barnden, who used to have hair like a mammoth. A team of 8 worked on the original Carmageddon at Stainless, and 5 are still with the company today, although a couple of them are now kept manacled in a small padded room in the cellar.

Stainless Games now employs well over fifty mad, dedicated people of assorted gender, height and width. They can all be found dangling precariously from a small chalky rock just off the South Coast of England.

Pros and cons of Carmageddon app for iPhone and iPad

Carmageddon app good for

This game is classic! Not quite as good as Carmageddon 2 but definitely a must have for any Carmageddon fan.
All it needs is more courses. I blasted through these in a few hours.
Best racing game of all times, I was playing this 10years back l and cant get tired of playing it now too
Back in 1997 when I first attempted playing this game, I was 7 years old. I played for about 10 minutes before my loving mother screamed in horror and took the game away. But I was already hooked. Now, nearly 2 decades later, the game is as amazing as I remember. This will be an essential action/driving game for my iPhone/iPad for a long time to come and is a fairly lightweight game taking up little space and providing a LOT of fun. I can only hope Carmaggedon 2 will be re-released in the near future!
This game was amazing 15+ years ago on the PC and now its the best iOS game there is today!
Best racing game for 2 decades. Takes a bit of getting used to touchscreen controls on iPad but great once you get used to it. Had played through and had ALL the cars and ALL the upgrades. Lost everything after iOS update

Some bad moments

Ive played this on this same iPad and I opened it one day then my progress was all gone. I was great at the game. So then I deleted it. About 6 months later, I wanted to get it again, so I did. I eagerly opened the app to play, but it wouldnt load. I literally waited 5 minutes so it could open and it never did. I tried deleting it and re-downloading, Hard restarting, and wrote this review to you. I dont think you will, but please fix! I loved this game!
GDMF! (Inside joke). I wish this game worked but its too buggy to enjoy
When I open the app nothing seems to happen except for me to stare at a really creepy dude.
I get the nostalgia of this being an old game but it is basically unplayable. You cant turn more than about 5 degrees on either side, if you use the e-brake you just spin out and hit the wall, and if you get turned around at all there is no direction to get you going in the right direction. Just my opinion, but this game isnt wore the small amount of space it takes up on my phone.
Im not going to waste too much time here, yours or mine. This is the stupid mans GTA, albeit with worse graphics and the worst fing controls ever. Never will you find such a frustrating experience of trying to run over a pedestrian, crash into a car, or simply just trying to actually race and complete one friggin lap! Trying to perform anything more than going in straight line results in a spin out. The repetitive sprites of bloody bodies get old after your first speed bump, and the miraculous AI does a great job of killing itself. You could literally just let your car sit their and perform the repairs only, your opponents will kill themselves, as well as the pedestrians; theyll just run into your car like a cow walking into a butcher shop. Delete this trash. Horrible game in the 90s, why not remake something like the quake series or half life? Hell, need for speed 3, hot pursuit, all of the old GTA games. What a waste of a developers efforts.
Its a fun game, but its beyond frustrating that updating the app would erase my saved game. Also, the presumably fake ads when you open the game are just lame.
