Latest update deleted all my progress, I could cry

Excellent game. Over many months I have managed to complete every single race on all 3 difficulty levels, unlocking all the cars (even the extra Police one).
Installed the latest update tonight and all my progress has been wiped out. Back to "new game as guest". I am seriously infuriated and despondent. Dont these people ever TEST their software before release?
Grrrrr.
